The sports luxury car, 2006 M6 launched in 2005 as 2006 model vehicle came with the integration of M power and BMW engineering. The new model also combined the supercar presence with Grand Touring potential and light weight design solutions.

Engine & Performance

The 2006 M6 is powered by a 5.0 liter V10 engine that produces power up to 507 hp. The engine in the sports luxury car is mated to a standard 7-speed SMG transmission. With the powerful engine equipped, the sports car can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a time span of just 4.6 seconds. The top speed gained by the vehicle is 155 miles per hour. The top speed to the sports car is electronically limited to 155 miles per hour otherwise it has the capability to achieve top speed of more than 200 miles per hour.

Capacity

The final power is produced at an angular speed of 7750 rpm and the peak torque at 6100 rpm. The light V10 aluminum silicon alloy engine is robust and it is the first V-type engine to use bedplate technology for its construction.

Similar to the previous generation model, M5, the 2006 M6 model also uses the 7-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) that has 11 various change patterns. Out of them 5 are available in the automatic mode and remaining 6 in the manual mode, which selects the gear automatically based on the speed.
