1st Generation (1983 - 1989)

1st Generation Bmw M6

The BMW M6 was originally launched in 1983, as combination of the M1 engine and the body of a 6 series. Key visual differences at this point were the large air outlets and the “M” label all over the car, to make it stand apart from its 2 predecessors.  Equipped with a S38 engine, with a 0 to 60 time of under 7 seconds. The last of the 1st Generation models were produced in 1989. Although they were the first, they set what was to come for later m6 models

2nd Generation (2005 - Current)

2nd Generation Bmw M6

The 2nd Generation models were based on yet again the 6 series. Using a V10 engine that could do 0 to 60 around 5 seconds, this car featured carbon fiber like materials to strip weight off of the vehicle. In 2007 the car was now offered as a convertible, with an engine that cut its 0 to 60 time very well. In addition to the powerful engine, collaboration  with other components are used to only achieve greater performance.

The 2006 M6 is powered by a 5.0 liter V10 engine that produces power up to 507 hp. The engine in the sports luxury car is mated to a standard 7-speed SMG transmission. With the powerful engine equipped, the sports car can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a time span of just 4.6 seconds. The top speed gained by the vehicle is 155 miles per hour. The top speed to the sports car is electronically limited to 155 miles per hour otherwise it has the capability to achieve top speed of more than 200 miles per hour.

The length, width and the height of the vehicle were 190.9 inches, 72.3 inches and 53.7 inches respectively. It had the fuel economy of 12 miles per gallon in the city premises, while it had 18 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The vehicle was available in both convertible and coupe versions.

Whether you prefer a coupe or convertible, both are made out of lightweight aluminum, carbon fiber, and composite materials to further reduce the weight and enhance performance. Other notable features are 19 inch alloy wheels, M Sport heated front seats, M Drive button on steering wheel to save driving settings.

Current models include the use of many high-quality materials in order to “surpass” the competition, in both performance and style. These materials include:

  • A 5.0 Liter V10 Engine
  • 19 Inch Wheels
  • Room For Four
  • Airflow Inlets
  • Electronically Controlled Leather Seats
  • 13 Speaker Stereo
